Welcome to Yonphula Monastery. The monastery is a Nyingma Buddhist monastery located at Trashigang in eastern Bhutan. The monastery was founded by Tantric Master Lama Karpo Rinpoche, the first disciple of Tertoen Dudjom Lingpa Jigdrel Yeshi Dorji.

HE Yonphula Rinpoche

Yonphula Lama Jigme Tenzin aka Yonphula Rinpoche (b. 20th cent.), born in Bhutan in the family lineage of Pema Lingpa, is a major Longchen Nyingtik and Dudjom Tersar lineage holder of Eastern Bhutan. Rinpoche is an Ngagpa Practitioner and realized Dzogchen teachings especially Nyingma Dudjom Terser teachings in Eastern Bhutan.

Chanting mantras can help focus the mind, cultivate positive energy, and promote a sense of calm and well-being. Here is a commonly used mantra called the “Om” mantra: Om (pronounced as “Aum”) The Om mantra is considered the most fundamental and powerful mantra in various spiritual traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. It is often chanted at the beginning and end of meditation sessions or as a standalone practice. To chant the Om mantra, follow these steps: 1. Find a quiet and peaceful place where you can sit comfortably. 2. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax. 3. Inhale deeply and on the exhale, begin chanting the sound “Oooooooom” or “Aaaaaaaum.” Allow the sound to resonate from your abdomen and travel up through your throat and out of your mouth. 4. Chant the mantra for as long as you feel comfortable, focusing on the sound and vibration it creates. 5. If your mind starts to wander, gently bring your attention back to the mantra. 6. Continue chanting for a few minutes or for as long as you wish. 7. When you’re ready to finish, gradually allow the chanting to subside and sit quietly for a moment, observing any effects or sensations. Remember, the power of a mantra lies not just in the words themselves but also in the intention and focus you bring to the practice. So, approach the chanting with a calm and receptive mind, and let the vibrations of the mantra guide you to a deeper state of inner stillness and awareness.
